3 star DE Kendal Vickers 6" 3" 245lbs of Havelock, NC got a better feel about where he fits into USC's thinking for a spot in the 2013 class during his visit Saturday to Columbia. Vickers said last week he needs A's and B's for this half of the school year to have a chance to qualify with his test score. And he said the Gamecocks have told him there's a spot for him if he qualifies. "It was great," he said of the visit. "I talked to all the coaches and they were excited that I'm going to be a Gamecock. It's a beautiful place. I can't wait to get down there." Vickers added that USC defensive line coach Deke Adams is scheduled to visit him in about three weeks. Vickers said thru the first nine weeks of this semester, he is sitting on all A's and B's and he's confident he will made the grade to get to USC this fall. If not, USC will place him in a prep school and he will enroll in January.
