“We’re excited for Ryan, I’ve known him for a long time, thought he was a great quarterback,” Leach said. “I know the coaches at South Carolina, and they’re really excited to have him, and I know he can throw the ball well, too.”

Leach spoke highly of Ryan Hilinski at his weekly press conference Monday.

Mike Leach has close ties to the Hilinski family. The Washington State coach recruited and also worked with Tyler Hilinski, the late brother for Gamecocks signal caller Ryan Hilinski.

I've always liked Mike Leach. I think he got a raw deal at Texas Tech. If things don't work out with Muschamp, I think Leach would be a good choice for head coach.

In the L.A. Times article about Ryan Hilinski, it alludes to Ryan's father having some animosity towards Leach. Apparently Leach threw some shade on Tyler about missing practice, simultaneous to Tyler's suicide. Leach is a scumbag.
