South Carolina got some late-game heroics on Friday night against their bitter in-state rivals, the Clemson Tigers, to come away with a heart-stopping victory. Chico Carter hit a clutch up-and-under shot with less than a second remaining to lift the Gamecocks to the victory in Columbia, SC. The game-winner put South Carolina up 60-58 with 0.3 seconds and that would be the finishing result.

Carter finished the game with 16 points for the Gamecocks–leading the team in scoring. Former five-star G.G. Jackson II pumped in 12 points on 4 of 13 shooting from the field. He also stuffed the stat sheet with eight rebounds and two steals.

Tonight was the first game back for Clemson superstar P.J. Hall, who finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and one block in the losing effort. The Gamecocks held a commanding advantage on the glass on Friday night, outrebounding Clemson 50-32. South Carolina shot only 34.4 percent from the field but still came away with a huge win. Clemson only shot 37.7 percent from the field.
