WATCH: First 2018 South Carolina commitment Darius Rush posts senior highlights

December 01, 2017

Three-star wide receiver Darius Rush was the first #SpursUp for the 2018 South Carolina commitment class. He’ll graduate from C.E. Murray High School in December and move to Columbia in January, to begin his career as a Gamecock.

In 10 regular season games at C.E. Murray (Greeleyville, S.C.), Rush caught 40 passes for 711 yards and 15 touchdowns. In his first few years of high school ball, the 6-foot-2, 172-pound athlete mostly played quarterback and running back.

Below are the highlights of his first full-time season as a wide receiver. Mixed in are a few clips of Rush also at defensive back.

Over 34 games in his first three seasons, Rush completed 25 of 76 passes for 424 yards with 4 touchdowns. He also rushed 156 times for 1,082 yards and 4 scores. His receiving numbers: 23 catches, 387 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Defensively, during those seasons, Rush totaled 73 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and 16 pass breakups.

According to the 247Sports composite, he is the No. 210 wide receiver in the Class of 2018 and No. 27 overall among prospects from the state of South Carolina. He’ll represent the Palmetto State later this month in the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

Rush is also an accomplished track and field athlete.
