It’s not that Muschamp and staff were not ecstatic. They certainly were. It’s just that they knew the five were coming all along, so there were no surprises to them.
Muschamp signed a total of 24 newcomers for the class, four of whom already have enrolled. He said the emphasis was improving the team’s overall speed and the feels that was accomplished. He also wanted more size on the defensive line, and he feels he got that.
There were no high fives and bear hugs in the football offices at USC Wednesday as one major target after another was checked off the list. The Gamecocks went into NSD with five possible additions, including committed DB Jamyest Williams who publicly was also considering Georgia, and they nailed all five. Along with Williams the Gamecocks added DL Javon Kinlaw, DE Aaron Sterling, OL Jordan Carty and DE Brad Johnson.It’s not that Muschamp and staff were not ecstatic. They certainly were.
