WATCH: South Carolina WR commitment Shi Smith goes to workSept. 28, 2016
Four-star wide receiver commitment Shi Smith could add some much needed explosiveness to South Carolina’s offense.
But Gamecocks fans will have to be patient since Smith won’t step foot on campus until 2017. In the meantime, the No. 12 athlete in the class of 2017 will continue to make big-time plays for Union County (S.C.) High School.
Check out the video above for a glimpse of the playmaker who committed to South Carolina earlier this year.
Not counting Union’s blowout loss to Gaffney, Smith has caught around 21 passes for 236 yards and 4 touchdowns in four games against York, Chapman, Spartanburg and Ridge View. He also had a 43-yard punt return for a touchdown against Ridge View.
With games left against Eastside, Blue Ridge, Greer and Travelers Rest, Smith could put up some monster numbers down the stretch.
Smith had an impressive outing against Chapman, during which he caught 8 passes for 77 yards and a pair of scores.
