ABOUT THIS GAME

  • South Carolina leads the all-time series 6-3 after six straight victories. Seven of the nine games in the series have been decided by single digits, including five decided by three or fewer points.
  • The Gamecocks will honor their two seniors before their final regular-season game at Colonial Life Arena. The ceremony will begin at 11:40 a.m.
  • The first 3,000 fans at the game will receive a commemorative Senior Day poster.

Will miss both Ty and Kiki - it's amazing how quickly the years have flown - I still sometimes think we should be seeing Tiffany, Alaina, and A'ja out there on the floor for the Gamecocks. Hopefully both have strong games today....

 
Gamecocks lead 19-12 after one quarter of ball is played. Kiki Herbert-Harrigan has 15 of their points - she's 5-7 shooting thus far, the rest of the Gamecocks are shooting 1-9.....

 
Gamecocks a little sluggish today. They are not hitting their shots like typically. But Texas A&M is a good team - they were right there with Mississippi State in pre-game picks to win the SEC this season, but they had to go a stretch with their top player Chennedy Carter out with an injury. She's back playing with the team now.....

 
Rough first half for the Gamecocks in their final regular-season game against Texas A&M, but they go into the break leading 31-22. Kiki Herbert-Harrigan leads the team with 17 1st half points and 6 rebounds. The rest of the team has shot 6-33, but they finally started contributing. Aliyah Boston started slowly, but now has 6 pts and 6 rebounds.

The officials are letting a lot of physicality go, especially in the paint. Boston has her work cut out for her dealing with the bigs for the Aggies today.....

 
Started to go to the game to see Ty and Kiki's last game at home, but this is a Final Four team.

Plenty of games left to watch.

 
Gamecocks lead 44-30 midway through the 3rd quarter. Boston has gotten going more in the 2nd half - she has 10 pts and 8 rebounds. Zia Cooke had gone scoreless in the 1st half, but now has scored 4 pts....

 
#1 South Carolina escapes with the 60-52 win over #12/14 Texas A&M, to close out their 2019-2020 regular season 29-1 and 16-0 in SEC play. Kiki Herbert-Harrigan led the Gamecocks with 20 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Fellow senior Ty Harris added 9 pts, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Aliyah Boston recovered from a slow early start to finish with 13 pts and 12 rebounds.

The Gamecocks will get to take advantage of being the SEC regular-season champions, and overall #1 Seed for the SEC Conference Tournament. They get a double bye for the tournament, so their first game won't take place until Friday, while other teams will start as early as Wednesday. So hopefully they reboot and recharge their batteries, as the regular season is over and was a WIN - now the post-season starts as a new season, and everyone starts 0-0 for that one.

As “uninspired” a game as that seemed I didn’t feel like the result was ever in doubt.
