All of the above are reported to have offers from Dawn except Mary Ashley Groot who plays with Ashlyn Watkins on Asia Dozier's Cardinal Newman team. She is a Gamecock born and bred. Her grandmother (former chief judge of the US 4th District Court of Appeals) is an alumnus and the Law School Courtroom is named after her. Her mom is a NYC attorney and also an alum. Mary Ashley is rumored to have an open walkon offer because she doesn't need an athletic scholly. Rumor only and can never be confirmed. She does reportedly have a scholly offer from Miami.

All three 2023 prospects are listed as invitees to tryout for spots on the US U-16 national team! (Dawn's influence?)

For the 2022 cycle, Watkins and Cooper are pretty much consensus #1 and #2  for SC. Others would be #3 McCall King of Christ Church, #4 Anala Nelson of Lower Richland, #5 Imani Williams of Dreher, #6 Tyra Myers of Hammond, #7 Alexia Grant of First Baptist Church, and #8 Destiny Middleton of Westside High

The first commitment for the 2022 cycle has finally revealed herself!!

Coach Staley had tweeted out a birdie landing in the nest months ago, but nothing official had ever come of it. Janiah Barker had us as one of her finalists, but she chose Georgia this week. Although for much of this cycle she was a solid #3 possibility, after in-state 5-stars Ashlyn Watkins and Talaysia Cooper. Cooper was to announce today.

All of a sudden, Coach Staley puts out a new tweet last night:


So that sort of put two and two together, and Cooper made it official today:



Talaysia is the overall #18th rated prospect for the 2022 class per ESPN's Hoopgurlz, and the #4th rated PG. She comes out of Turbeville (East Clarendon High), S.C.
