USC has been on the short list with DE Da’Shawn Hand of Woodbridge, VA for several weeks and is now working on getting him in for a visit this spring according to Woodbridge assistant coach John Harris. “The head coach (Dr Karibe Dede) is trying to make the USC visit happen,” Harris said. “He has been in touch with coach (Deke) Adams.” Adams had recruited Hand for North Carolina and is assisting in the recruitintg for the Gamecocks. Hand has visited Virginia Tech, Michigan, Alabama and North Carolina. He has not yet visited USC and Florida, the other two schools in his top five with Virginia Tech, Michigan and Alabama. He’s still talking with UNC but the Tar Heels remain outside the top five. Harris said Hand hasn’t given an indication of when he wants to make his decision. “He doesn’t want to drag it out too long,” Harris said. “He’ll wait until he’s 100% sure.” Hand had a dominating junior season with 100 tackles including 40 for loss and 16 sacks.
WR Blake Bone of Woodruff said Monday night he will make an unofficial visit to USC Tuesday for the Gamecocks’ spring practice. Bone was also at USC for a junior day in February. He also went to North Carolina for a junior day. He has offers from USC, Clemson, Ole Miss and Kentucky. He’s also drawn interest from Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, NC State, Florida State and Louisville.
DL Kendall Baker (6-6 275) of Atlanta has offers from Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Washington, Duke, West Virginia, Auburn and Wisconsin among others. He named is top five as Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, Clemson and Alabama in that order. “I talk to coach (Marion) Hobby a lot and he seems like a really cool guy,” said Baker. “They just want me to come up for a visit real bad. When I get a chance, I want to go see what they have to offer.” Baker has taken visits to FSU, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn and says UGA stood out. “I got to talk to coach (Mark) Richt,” he said. “The other trips have been for practices and stuff like that, so you don’t really get a chance for one-on-one time with the coaches.” Baker was going to visit Clemson April 13th but a scheduling conflict will not make it possible. He will be taking the ACT on that day. He did not name a time frame for a decision.
DE Kentavius Street (6-4 264) of Greenville, NC had plans to visit Clemson earlier this month but did not make the trip. They had planned the visit around a family vacation. “We were going to go to Columbia for our vacation so we decided to go by Clemson,” said Street. “The trip was called off so I never went.” He may not reschedule. “I used to hear from Clemson a lot but, to tell you the truth, I haven’t talked to them in a while,” he said. “If the opportunity arises, I’ll go visit but at this point, I’m not going to go out of my way to visit.” He named Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee as his top three. “They’re the schools showing me the most interest right now,” he said. Street visits Virginia Tech, Florida State and Georgia in May. His offers include Clemson, Georgia, FSU, Tennessee, North Carolina, East Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Ohio State and Maryland. Street believes Auburn is next to offer. As a junior, he recorded 19 sacks. He does not have a leader.
USC remains one of the favorites of highly regarded DB Marlon Humphrey of Hoover, AL. The son of former Alabama star Bobby Humphrey told 247Sports he has a top group of USC, Alabama, Mississippi State and Florida State. He visited Alabama Monday and that likely will be his only unofficial visit of the spring due to track.
USC OL target Bentley Spain of Charlotte made an unofficial visit to North Carolina today. He’s made several unofficial visits to Chapel Hill as well as USC. He’s also considering LSU, Michigan, Stanford and Virginia.
DE Andrew Williams of McDonough, GA is visiting Georgia today. He has offers from Clemson and USC.
DL Anthony Moten of Fort Lauderdale committed to Florida Tuesday night. He had USC and Clemson in his final 10.

6-3 Shadell Millinghaus and 6-6 Leroy Fludd, teammates from Believe Prep in Rock Hill, will visit USC Tuesday. Both players confirmed their plans Monday night. Their coach, Tyson Waterman, and Millinghaus’ brother will be part of the visit. Millinghaus, who is a native of Schenectady, NY, is now calling St. George home now that his parents and grandmother live there. Millinghaus and Fludd have talked about attending the same school and USC is the common offer, but neither plans to make a commitment Tuesday. “I’m going to see how everything is and we’ll see how it goes,” Millinghaus said. “That (a decision) is down the road. I like them (USC) a lot. They definitely still have a chance.” And having his family in the state won’t hurt the Gamecocks’ chances. Millinghaus said he also will visit Tennessee Tech, Tennessee and Oregon this month. Fludd said he has no other visits planned right now but is also looking at Colorado State and Utah.
Clemson has offered senior small forward Donte Grantham of Martinsburg, WVA. He was the West Virginia player of the year this season after averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds per game. Grantham told his hometown newspaper, The Journal, that he finds Clemson appealing. “That’s the ACC, that’s playing against Duke and (North) Carolina,” Grantham said. “It’s a beautiful place. Imagine trying to put (turn) that down. That’s what I’m saying. It’s a really hard and tough thing. Right now, all the schools are equal to each other.” He also has offers from Maryland, Cincinnati and others. He’s also hearing from West Virginia.
