Three straight 11 win seasons, yet SC will rank about 9-10 out of the 14 SEC schools. Yes it was always going to be a small class. And yes, our coaches find the diamonds in the rough most often so to say, but the Four star kids that were early leans to SC that switched bait late like Barker, Scott etc. to teams that have struggled severely the past three years is an enigma. Maybe SC finishes strong with Green, Lammons, Wideman, etc., but do not forget that the kid that was the one and only SC target at QB for two years (Barker) and also same for RB (Scott) both left SC at the alter.
This has been a really confusing recruiting class, not saying anything bad or otherwise, just confusing and irritating with some of these players that were long time leans and jumped ship at the last moment. Not to mention that some of the biggest need spots that offer the earliest playing time for top recruits is still like pulling teeth, still not sure in those cases. This could have been a hugely successful class if 4-5 of the losses expected to be auto commits had not picked other teams, and for some reason they went elsewhere in spite of all the success SC has had lately. Still think the players committed this year are all gamers, and will be great GC's, but missing on Barker, Scott and others along the trenches that were supposed to be leans are just perplexing.
