What advantage does South Carolina have over Georgia for Rick Sandidge?
February 03, 2018
On Saturday, several coaches from South Carolina will conduct an in-home visit with 4-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge.
It will be Sandidge’s final meeting with college recruiters, before he reaches the conclusion of his recruitment. At this point, it’s safe to say the 6-foot-5, 288-pound prospect will end up at South Carolina or Georgia.
According to an interview Jeff Sentell conducted with his mother, Keshia Sandidge, the Gamecocks have one big thing working in their favor.
“They’ve been here the entire time and they have shown him he is a priority for the entire time and why he is a priority and how he fits in,” she said. “That’s the biggest plus for them. But then you’ve got the glitz and the glamor for Georgia and the relationship with [uGA line coach] Tray [scott]. The glitz and the glamour there for Georgia is that the program just played for the national title.”
After meeting with South Carolina’s staff on Saturday, the family will gather on Sunday and discuss the two options. The respective coaching staffs will get the final word from Sandidge at some point on Monday.
On Wednesday, which is National Signing Day, the rest of the world will find out where he’s headed to playing college football.
