What time five-star South Carolina commit Jordan Burch will sign next week

January 28, 2020

There was a date in place to when Jordan Burch will announce his choice and now there is a time.

The Hammond five-star defensive end will lock in his choice at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 at a signing ceremony at the school, Hammond officials said Tuesday. Burch committed South Carolina on Dec. 18, the first day of the early signing period, during a nationally-televised announcement in front of friends, classmates and media at Fawcett Gymnasium. Burch picked South Carolina over Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU.

Burch said LSU finished second and Clemson came in third. “I feel like it was neck and neck until it came down to the commitment day,” Burch said at Under Armour All-American game.

But Burch never signed with South Carolina because he wanted to sign with his other Hammond teammates. But speculation has grown if Burch will sign with the Gamecocks. 247Sports reported Burch made an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend.

Burch will be part of a big signing class at Hammond. Defensive tackle Alex Huntley committed to South Carolina but like Burch, didn’t sign in December. He took an official visit to Virginia in December and an unofficial to South Carolina last week. Most recruiting experts believe he will sign with the Gamecocks.

So if if will announce his choice on Feb 5th. Why did he announce last month?
I think it means he will "sign" on that date and that will lock him in.  I know he announced, but that is always subject to change until the actually put the pen to paper.  As well as he kept all of this under wraps until the day he announced, I would be really surprised if he changed it now, but you never know.

If he is a no-show for his official Saturday he is LSU bound.

I agree...he didn’t sign when he had a chance the writing was on the wall...I hope flipper didn’t get flipped but in the end I wish Burch nothing but the best

Me too know need to hold  the kids feet to the fire. Only young once and you really need to go where you want not what others want. Wherever he goes be happy for him. Thinking here, I will pick on a grown man here among our other leadership. If Boom would have just been able to win 6 or 7 games, none of this would be going on. This mess we're in now are the result of bunch of old timer  Board member way past retirement, Tanner just not a good AD and Boom will not change = failure. No excuses the past 2 years on Boom.

I agree...it is easy to build a reputation of recruiting when you are at Texas and Florida...Tanner should be fired immediately IMO
