why isn't his name being mentioned as the #3 tailback instead of possibly wasting Brandon Wilds' redshirt year???

K Salley is INJURED AND HAS BEEN SINCE THE START OF THE SEASON AND IS REDSHIRTING. That being said Salley is another RB in the mold of a Lattimore, Wilds, and Davis in that he's a bigger power back who runs behind his pads well, but also has some speed for such a big back. Salley rushed 233 times for 1,901 yds (8.2 ypc) and 29 tds as a sophomore in high school sharing touches with Dexter Staley, and rushed 231 times for 2,118 yds (9.2 ypc) and 40 tds as a junior. Kendrick amassed over 5,000 rushing yds and 90 tds in high school prior to his injury. His only detraction was that he played for a low-level HS (Div. A), but while there he regularly tore through all opposition for huge chunks of yardage per gain and scored touchdowns in heaps. He was also a very effective receiver out of the backfield and is a great fit for the zone read offense we run.

Kendrick was a lifelong Gamecock fan and was our first commit for the 2012 class about a month after we offered him. He will be a great addition to the offense once he recovers fully from his injury, and IMO will be a strong candidate along with Brandon and Mike for the RB job next season. We'll have a solid 1-2-3 punch with these guys....
