What is this obsession with some players that go to other schools? We are recruiting fantastic! USC has been recruiting WAY over our heads since Spurrier got here. When he arrived, the talent gap between USC and clempsun was very, very large. Now, we have WAY better players than they do. Why can we not celebrate the fact that we just got commitments from the #4 and the #10 LB's in the country? Both of whom were from out of state, no less.
Some people seem to focus on a couple who get away every year. To question our coaches recruiting ability over one or two players who do not sign with USC every year is a discredit to the great players we DO have, first of all. Second, it is a discredit to the fantastic job our coaches do of landing ELITE players every year. Third, it is a discredit to our fan base: if we cannot celebrate the GREAT players we have, are landing, and will continue to land, what does this say about ourselves?
We will continue to rise with, or without one or two players each year. We do have the #10 class in the country. What was our biggest need this year? LB. Look at the LB's we got: Bryant, Rolin, David Johnson- 3 LB's whom the staff here has raved about. DT& WR- those are not huge needs this year, it will not make a huge difference either way who we do, or do not land.
Who cares who clempsun or whoever lands? They cannot coach them, and we will land better players anyways, like we have been doing. Our coaches are doing a GREAT job recruiting, we cannot lose sight of how far we have come. To insinuate otherwise is a discredit to Marcus,Connor Shaw, DJ, Clowney, Devin Taylor, Shaq Roland, Ace, TJ, and on, and on. We do not need to covet other team's players anymore, we have our own superstars. I don't think anyone would trade guys like I just mentioned for anyone, so lets not pretend we would. I feel better now.
