Redshirt freshman Jalen Christian is set to transfer from South Carolina. Head coach Will Muschamp said on Thursday after practice that Christian has gone about everything the right way and that he will help the wide receiver find a better fit closer to home as he deals with some "personal issues."
"Jalen Christian and I met and he’s going to transfer," Muschamp said. "He has some things at home. He has some things that are very personal to him. He’s a great young man and we didn’t want him to leave. I really appreciate how he’s handling the situation; he’s handling it like a man. We’re going to help him transfer to a place closer to home. At the end of the day, it’s about the student-athletes."
Muschamp said after Tuesday's practice that Christian had gone back home to tend to some personal matters. He missed practice then and said he would transfer.
Christian was a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He redshirted last season and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
