DL Dexter Wideman of Saluda committed to Florida State in July, but he later attended a camp at USC and that has led to speculation that
the Gamecocks are still alive for him. But Saluda coach Doug Painter feels at least right now Wideman has settled on the Seminoles. "He's kind of relieved to get a decision made and feels good about it," Painter said. "He really likes the coaches there. I think he wanted to go a little father away from home. It's possible the door is open for USC but Dexter hasn't told me that. Kids can change their mind. I'm sure they'll stay on him. But I think he's pretty set on it (FSU) right now." Painter said he's confident Wideman will attend some games at USC this fall. He said Wideman has not scheduled any official visits.
