Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks staff saturate the recruiting trail
Nov. 29, 2016

On Tuesday, defensive line coach Lance Thompson will stop by Morgan County High School in Madison, Ga. to see M.J. Webb. Muschamp, Thompson and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson will have an in-home visit next week.

Webb, a 4-star defensive end, was asked if coaches from other schools have indicated they want to see him during the contact period. The answer was firm.

“I don’t talk to other coaches,” Webb said.

Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson have rescheduled plans to visit with 3-star cornerback commitment Tavyn Jackson, who had originally expected to see the two coaches on Monday night.

Before Muschamp and Robinson flew out to Arizona Western College on Monday, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen met with 3-star cornerback Keisean Nixon.

Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon had an in-home visit on Monday night with 4-star offensive tackle Tony Gray.

Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper was in the Upstate, to visit quarterback commitment Jay Urich. The 3-star from Wren High School in Piedmont, S.C. expects to see South Carolina’s coaches again next week.

Urich said coaches from Tennessee are “still talking” to him. The Vols offered in late October.

Running backs coach Bobby Bentley stopped by Concord (N.C.) High School to check out Hamsah Nasirildeen’s grades and to speak with his coaches. The 4-star defender took an official visit to Florida State earlier this fall, but he’s unsure when the Seminoles coaches are going to visit.

Linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler visited Woodmont High School (Piedmont, S.C.) to check on 3-star linebacker commitment Davonne Bowen.

Tight ends coach Pat Washington met with 3-star tight end commitment Will Register of Chapin (S.C.) High School.

Running back commitment Kyshaun Bryan heard that someone from South Carolina will stop by on Wednesday, but he’s not sure who’s coming. The 3-star from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. continues to hear from other schools: Miami, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Michigan and UCLA.

Bryan is not sure, but he “may” visit some of those other schools.

Zay Brown said he’s expecting Robinson to visit him on Friday. The 3-star safety commitment from Athens, Ga. continues to hear from Arkansas State cornerbacks coach Trooper Taylor.
