MUSCHAMP DEFENDS BRYAN MCCLENDON
Muschamp said: “We can play better on offense. These past two weeks have been extremely frustrating from a consistency standpoint. I go back to last year, everybody talks about Bryan being a first year coordinator, we averaged more than 30 points, and we’ve only done that five times in the last 13 years. We had over 400 yards per game, which has only been done three times in 13 years.
Muschamp back to last year: "He did a really good job for us last year. It’s been a little frustrating this year. Obviously, there have been some injuries and different things that have happened on the offensive side that have certainly limited us. We can do a better job as coaches of putting guys in better situations. We have a really good staff, and I’ve been frustrated for these guys.
Muschchamp talk’s youth and better play: "It’s been tough Ryan and Dakereon have been put in tough situations for young quarterbacks, but that’s where we are. We need to play better around those guys to give them a better opportunity. We all share in it, and it starts with me and we have to get better."
LATEST ON THE INJURY FRONT
Muschamp started out by talking Edwards’s injury: Wide receiver Bryan Edwards is doubtful for next Saturday’s game against Clemson.” His health is first and foremost for us.” Muschamp also stated that linebacker Spencer Eason-Riddle tore his ACL and would be out for the season, but did say wide receiver Chavis Dawkins and running back A.J. Turner would both be healthy and available against the Tigers.
On the rest of the injured: “OrTre will be back, he’s practicing. Chavis Dawkins will be back. Tavien Feaster will be back. Obviously Rico has played the last couple games on a little bit of a bum knee, he included that nobody is 100 percent right now. Mon Denson and A.J. Turner is back is well. Shi Smith is practicing extremely well. Muschamp and staff are excited to get these guys back going forward.”
TO ALL FANS ATTENDING THE GAME
Coach Will Muschamp called for fans and students to avoid throwing things on the field. He followed it up with a great joke:
He certainly has a point, as smuggling alcohol into SEC stadiums is a tradition as old as time. But, hopefully, fans do avoid pelting the field with trash, as that’s not a good look for anyone involved.
