Will the fullback return to Gamecock offense and how will the position will be used

January 01, 2020, | GCF Staff Report

New offensive coordinator Mike Bobo seemed bemused that anyone brought up Adam Prentice at all in his introductory press conference. Bobo replied.. “You know who Adam Prentice is, huh?” Bobo said. (VIEW ARTICLE)

I hope so.  I would be nice to see that element brought back to offense.   Put something out there the defenses aren't ready for.

Maybe we fine the 2020 version of "the Tyler rose",  Mr Earl Campbell.  Get him and another Uncle George at tailback and they're moving the chains  in a cloud of dust.

Smash mouth football.

The ways things were meant to be.

Seems like a good idea to me use a two back set some then  mix in the spread offense. That would require other teams to have to prepare for both styles of offense.

IMO, you only use a FB or H-back if it creates mismatches with opposing defenses.

Unfortunately the FB is going the way of the Dodo bird. It's a damn shame, but it is what it is...

I love the position and think it's so versatile but modern offenses are built for speed and quickness, not for toughness. I think it began with the west coast offense from 30 years ago.
