Looks like a strong possibility that Wolf is heading to Ky.

Stoops hints at South Carolina's Eric Wolford as next OL coach: "I have a guy in mind. ... It'll happen" | Kentucky Sports Radio

Mark Stoops will now turn his attention to filling out the rest of Kentucky's coaching staff, starting with arguably the biggest remaining vacancy: the offensive line coach

Interesting. But we knew very few of CWM’s folks would be stayed by on ... why wouldn’t Stoops want the guy who just coached the OL group that produces the SEC rushing leader?

on the flip side, they cant pass protect to save their lives

Hello, All  as I said he would not be retained by Beamer, the contacts that I have say that the kids don't like him he's too rough to play for, this comes from inside the locker room at Carolina, as I have said I will not say who has told me, but the kids won't him gone.  He does not respect the players he has at Carolina.   They have stock together on issues that came up and Muschamp would not intervein.   He was part of the problem at U.S.C.

Interesting comments. In particular the comment about not respecting the players. All roads lead to a culture problem within the program under Muschamp. I'm optimistic with Beamer, but we will see.

I'll accept that.

Wolfie had a good rep from his one year here in '09. He recruited some of the key OL guys from our 3 year run of 33 wins.

However, I think all of us can say we're disappointed. We expected the OL to excel, and we may have had better pass blocking under Shawn or even John Hunt.

Wolfie should have been one of those "home run hires".  :(

Which now leaks out. Likely one of the main reasons WM is not a winner.

Official: Kentucky hires South Carolina OL coach Eric Wolford

Mark Stoops has announced the hiring of South Carolina's Eric Wolford as his new offensive line coach. Former Kentucky offensive line coach John Schlarman passed away on Nov. 12 after a two-year battle with cholangiocarcinoma.

"I’m honored to have Eric Wolford join our staff," Stoops said. "I’ve known Eric and worked with Eric for a long time. I knew it would take a special person to fill this role and we found the best candidate. I know what we are getting with Eric Wolford and he will continue to build on the legacy that John Schlarman started. He’s intense, he’s detailed but he also has the unique ability to connect with people."

Little skeptical of this because of the comments of past players about him.

it's coaching he is not as good as people think, too many people  has said the same thing.

yes, I know but people do change.
I understand. And don't take what I said as a slight against you. Hutch went out of his way to thank Wolfie just two weeks ago, and I know what past p[layers have said. Sometimes players during ugly, bad seasons players need an outlet for all the stress and anger of that losing season, too - and players who aren't getting minutes or reps also have a tendency to think they deserve it and their coach is the reason. It just doesn't fit Wolfie's profile anywhere he has been, so I guess that's why I'm skeptical. Either way, I can understand that CSB has new folks in mind and totally get that. Hope he finds someone good.

Yeah I disagree with this as well. His rep as a coach got him hired twice here and got him snapped up by a division rival minutes after he was available. Will have to agree to disagree on this one.

I tend to ignore most of the things that leak out after a coach leaves...often it's simply sour grape or finger pointing.  I think W/L record is a legitimate complaint, struggles offensively -- all legitimate beefs with Muschamp.  A lot of this other stuff is simply slinging mud after the fact...easy to do when you have no risk of having to face the person about whom you are talking.

Agree 100%.  Do I think he is a good coach? Yes. Am I happy to have some new blood and new enthusiasm in that coaching room? Yes.

Way to many people over his entire career...including as a head coach and time in the NFL...say nothing but the opposite. His career, record and resume all completely outweigh...its almost laughable to compare these two things...this single take from a single player on a team where the OL was not the issue.

ok , I just am not willing to say or make any other remarks about the guy, just know what is an fact in the S.C. locker room .

He must be wonderful at coaching run blocking and terrible at pass blocking. Because we had a guy - that was not even supposed to start - run for over 1100 yards in ten games, against SEC competition.
Is it possible that this was because of the guy doing the running not being evaluated properly, maybe a kid who plays better than he practices, but also getting what he gets despite the line?
I only listened this year, but i kept hearing that he "somehow" got through the line, and once in the secondary, accelerated and accelerated.
