Jelani Woods
QB Jelani Woods of Ellenwood, GA makes a return trip to USC Saturday for the spring game. Woods is one of USC’s top targets for its second quarterback in the 2017 class along with Jake Bentley and the Gamecocks continue to work Woods hard. He talks weekly with quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper.
“I’m hearing the same thing as previous, that they really want me to come,” Woods said. “They said I’m the best fit for what they are trying to do at South Carolina.”
Woods said he’s also hearing from Oklahoma State, FIU and every once in awhile from Michigan. He’s going to visit Oklahoma State April 16th and probably will visit Michigan in early June and FAU in the summer.
Woods said a commitment is not far off, possibly after the Oklahoma State visit. His top three are USC. Oklahoma State and Michigan in no order and his will choose his school based on a small criteria set.
“Which one I feel more comfortable in,” he said. “I don’t really worry about traveling, I’m good with that. And being able to have a good relationship with the players and the coaches, and the atmosphere around the whole school. And being in tune with the players and students.”
Woods said his parents and brother will join him on the visit to USC.
