Talking about the possibility of the hurricane, tropical storm, etc that might come into play for the Vanderbilt game. It got me thinking about the worst Gamecock weathered game I've ever witnessed. I'm talking about miserably wet or cold. Any good stories out there? My top 3 are below....
#3...Florida 1995. Spurrier marched in and put a beating on us 63-7. This was the second coldest night of my life. I sat in the upper East on those frozen metal bleachers with no one around to block the swirling wind. Wind chill was 2 degrees. This was the first time I have EVER left a game early in my life regardless the score. We were losing like 35-7 at the half and I bounced.
#2...East Carolina 1996. It freakin poured in that 23-7 loss at home. I remember a fan ran onto field and had cops chasing him for days before they caught him. That was the only part of that day that made me smile.
#1...at NC State 1999. Lost 10-0 in Holtz's debut. Ponchos didn't help. The rain came sideways. I remember seeing kids making a mud slide in the corner of an endzone. They slid down it so many times the fence broke and security guards had to shut their fun down.
