WR Blake Bone gets good look at USC Tuesda

04/03/13

4 star WR Blake Bone of Woodruff spent much of Tuesday at USC getting a lesson on Gamecock receivers and getting a look at spring practice. "It was a pretty good day," Bone said. "I met all the coaches, shook hands with coach Spurrier and sat down with coach Spurrier Jr. and watched some film on their receivers. I went to practice and it was fun to watch the receivers get after it hard and work on their craft and try to beat the man in front of them." Bone spent a lot of time with Spurrier Jr. and got a good feel for what it might be like to play for him. "He's an interactive coach, a players' coach," he said. "He knows how to get after it." And the Gamecocks are getting after Bone with a lot of intensity. "They are looking at me pretty hard," he said. "It's a pretty good feeling. Coach Spurrier Jr. and coach Elliott are telling me they've got short receivers since Alshon (Jeffery) left and that's whey they are going after me hard. They need another big guy. I like everything about Carolina and I hope everything goes good in the future." Bone will visit Ole Miss this weekend and will try to get to Tennessee and Kentucky as soon as he can. Clemson also has offered but is not in his plans at this point. "I'm liking Carolina more than Clemson as a rivalry thing," he said. He has a top four of USC, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Tennessee. The Vols have not yet offered. Right now Bone plans to wait until National Signing Day to announce but said he could make an announcement at the Semper Fidelis Game in January.
