Friday at 2:00 PM on Twitter, WR Brad Hawkins Jr. of Camden, NJ will reveal a commitment to either USC or Michigan. He confirmed Thursday night his decision is down to those two schools. He also confirmed as of Thursday night he had not made his decision and it was 50-50 between the two.

“I’m going back and forth in my mind,” Hawkins said. “I talked to Coach Mangus and Coach Spurrier Jr. today. I also talked to Coach (Jedd) Fisch (Michigan’s receivers coach). The decision will be just where I feel comfortable. I’m going to talk to my mom and dad and family and make the decision on, going back to my visits, which one I felt more comfortable.” Hawkins attended USC’s Showcase camp last month.

Hawkins teammate and good friend Ron Johnson Jr. recently committed to Michigan and that is part of what Hawkins is thinking about.

“We’re two different people at two different positions, but I would like to play with Ron. He has been recruiting me.”

Michigan first year coach Jim Harbaugh has also been recruiting Hawkins….hard.

“I’ve talked to Coach Harbaugh more than Coach Spurrier,” he said. “I just talked to him two days ago. The only time I talked to Coach Spurrier was a camp. That is a big influence on my decision.”

But his commitment won’t end his recruiting. Hawkins said he will take official visits to schools other than the one he commits to. Oregon, Rutgers and Temple also were in his top five.

Last season Hawkins had about 40 catches for 900 yards and 16 touchdowns.
