Demarcus Gregory
WR Demarcus Gregory of Byrnes has been one of the hottest recruits in the state in recent weeks with offers coming from the likes of Florida, Wisconsin, Auburn, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas and Minnesota. He picked up his Florida offer last weekend after a visit to Gainesville.
“It felt really good, it meant a lot to me,” Gregory said. “Anytime it’s a big SEC school it means a lot. I loved it all.”
Florida was his most recent visit and he will be at USC this Saturday for the spring game.
“They’re telling me how I’m one of the top in the Palmetto State and they need me and stuff like that,” Gregory said. “It’s the home school and I like the offense they run. And the coaches are true with you and loyal to you.”
Gregory said he’s also connecting with Gamecock quarterback Jake Bentley who is a former Byrnes player as well.
Gregory is on spring break next week and he plans to see Oklahoma and Virginia Tech during his time off.
Gregory said he doesn’t have a favorite at this point and no short list of favorites. He’d like to make his decision before the season.
