https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=AAFWatched the XFL 1.0 way back when and it was underwhelming. I’ll probably give it a watch or two but not much hope.
I wish last years League ( can’t even remember what it was called) was still around. Some of those spurrier games were entertaining to watch.
If the NFL was smart they would buy out or at least become part owner of one of these upstart leagues like the XFL or AAF. Use it as developmental league as well as being able to experiment with rule changes. They were nice to have on in the background while doing something else. Made it feel like there was some football on. I watched some of one of the games and there were some good plays. Mangus had his offense rolling pretty good in the one game I watched some of on Sunday. I do think the NFL should look at some of the in game stuff they are doing while it is still around and get some ideas. I think being able to hear some of the interaction with the coaches to the players is kind of cool. Still definitely a big step down in talent level from the NFL and I think that will be the reason it does not last.
I agree, one thing that does worry me a little is if they start dipping into the college game by waiving the three year rule on players and supplementing their low pay with endorsement deals. If the NFL was smart they would buy out or at least become part owner of one of these upstart leagues like the XFL or AAF. Use it as developmental league as well as being able to experiment with rule changes.
