I know it's early and this is absolutely not meant to be a "bashing thread", just observational...
Here goes:
1. Lack of a tall, prominent, go-to receiver. Alshon left gigantic shoes to fill. This game was slightly off-kilter with Connor's injury so maybe we just didn't get to see any of the new potential uncovered - hopefully that was it.
2. O-Line. I know lots of Shaw's running plays were designed, but 90% of the actual passing plays seemed to get busted up, resulting in Shaw literally running for his life. No QB can sustain that for a significant period of time - hence tonight. This coupled with #1 leaves us with a virtually non-existent passing game.
3. Is Lattimore really 100%? We won't know this for a few more games as it will take that long to "get back in the groove", but based on what I saw tonight, I wasn't convinced that he is. Luckily he's such a phenomenal RB that even his "good" is better than most's best. I didn't see a lot of his second-effort lunges, resulting in an additional 2 - 4 yards after initial contact, mostly saw straight-up running.
There are a few things I loved though: D-Line (impressive), Connor Shaw (GUTS), even secondary (a few tweaks to be made, but several potentially crucial passes were broken up thanks to good plays from them).
