Coach Beamer gave the latest on the health of the Gamecock football team on Thursday night on Carolina Calls

Three of the offensive players hurt earlier in camp Wide receivers Antwane Wells and Nyck Harbor and tight end Trey Knox all missed some time due to injury. All three are ready to go against the Tar Heels on Saturday night against the Tarheels.

“They are full-go, ready to play,” Beamer said. “They had a fantastic week of practice and couldn’t be more excited about playing. They looked great in practice this week, feel great, and looking forward to seeing them on Saturday. Other players injured are “out” for this Saturday’s season-opening game against North Carolina. They are linebacker Bam Martin-Scott, defensive end Jatius Geer, and tight end Connor Cox. Beamer said. “Three guys won’t play – Geer, Cox, and Bam Scott won’t be able to play. Should have those guys back next week.”

The kickoff between the Gamecocks and Tar Heels is set for 7:44 p.m. Television coverage will be provided by ABC. Sean McDonough will be on the play-by-play call with Greg McElroy as the color commentator. Molly McGrath will work the sidelines for the television broadcast.
