Coach Beamer Quotes

Coach Beamer: "If I felt like changing the role of a coach on our staff was the right thing to do right now, I would." He then went on to say he has confidence in his guys, and will review job performances after the season has concluded.
Coach Beamer: He had a productive convo with Jaheim Bell on Sunday, took responsibility for not having Bell more involved, but then goes on to explain difficulty in getting all the playmakers onto the field. If he plays Player X, people will want Player Y, etc.
Coach Beamer: Talking about criticism toward the offense "If I think changing the role of a coach…right now was the best thing, I would." “When things aren’t going well it’s the Head Coach, the Offensive Coordinator & the QB getting the blame. That’s what we signed up for.”


Player Quotes

MarShawn Lloyd: After multiple questions about bowl games, MarShawn Lloyd says team needs to focus on their weekly preparations, and focusing game by game, as opposed to looking ahead to a possible bowl game. The focus this week is Vanderbilt.
Eric Douglas: Said the Missouri D-linemen would raise their arms on pass plays. He isn't sure what they saw on film or with their formations, but that they knew when the Gamecock O was going to pass the ball.
Eric Douglas: Once South Carolina went off-script in the first half against Mizzou, the Tigers' defense knew what plays were coming.
Jaheim Bell: Those conversations through the week pretty much telling me, do everything right on the field. I do whatever they asked me to do that’s pretty much it. Just got to (stay prepared) during the week.”
Jaheim Bell: “After that bowl game and going into the summer — recovering (from an injury) and all that — I thought that I was going to take off.”
Jaheim Bell: “No, I wasn’t expecting to only have nine snaps. I was expecting to have a big game. That didn’t happen, so just on to the next week. We’re just preparing for Vanderbilt this week. I’ve just got to prepare, like I said before, and just try to get ready for a big week.”
Jaheim Bell: “It’s very frustrating going through the week knowing you’re going to get the ball and it doesn’t happen. It’s kind of frustrating, but I kind of tried to let that go after after Sunday and Monday and try to come in and build on it and be positive and prepare like a pro.”
Zach Pickens: "What we showed last week wasn't us. I feel like we relaxed a lot because we thought we arrived at 5-2. We didn't attack it how we should've. Got embarrassed."


Injury Report

weekly press conference injury update that the Gamecocks are a team dealing with the usual rigors of playing a full season in the SEC.

Beamer on Injuries: “Injury-wise with us, it’s November 1 and we play in the SEC, so there’s going to be a lot of bumps and bruises this time of year after eight games and that’s what we have,” No one that we would sit here today and say is definitely out, but as we sit here today, we’ve got some guys that are questionable. Terrell Dawkins practiced today and gets closer and closer to being able to play. Hopefully, we can stay healthy here as we go through the rest of the week into Saturday.”

Other than Dawkins coach Beamer did not go into any other specifics on injuries.
