As he prepares for his sixth season at Carolina, Joyner can look back on a career that has seen him play quarterback, wide receiver, and kick returner. And now, running back?
The North Charleston native is utilizing his versatile skill set this spring to help fill a void in the Gamecocks backfield, and running backs coach Montario Hardesty couldn’t be happier. “He’s a natural runner,” Hardesty said in bragging on Joyner. “He’s shown some really good moxie and is picking it up well.”
Hardesty and outside linebackers/defensive ends coach Sterling Lucas visited with members of the media on Thursday to update spring practice. The duo also gave their take on the progress of the Gamecocks as next Saturday’s spring game approaches.
