Recruiting and its rankings are just a game for fans. Every coach will say that they don't look at the stars but the players, so rankings are not of much value. That said, it is for the fans so I wanted to do a little number crunching to see how we did in these areas.
I wanted to see how we (and other) were able to recruit in these 3 states. In each state a pool of the top tiers of players (5 star down to high 3 stars) and each was assigned a value based on the rating services score and rank (Rivals, 24/7, Scout and ESPN). These were complied and provided a final value for each player.
The most successful schools in Georgia for 2014 were.
1. UGa 2.41
2. Auburn 2.07
3. USC 1.74
4.Clemson 1.74
5. Ohio St .78
6. Ole Miss .22
7. Kentucky .21
8. UNC .15
9. Cincy .12
10. UCF .08
Overall 57 payers were used in this data set, each in the top 35 players in at least 1 recruiting list.
USC had a good year in the Peach state, but Georgia was rather unimpressive as the home team and where is Ga Tech?
SC stats up soon
