***2021 OFFICIAL GAME-DAY THREAD GAME #3: SOUTH CAROLINA AT GEORGIA***

Luke Doty, welcome back. Practice deep throws.

Jaylen Nichols, practice blocking the defense instead of thin air.

Josh Vann, you are awesome. Write 200 times "I will not taunt the DB."

Coach Adkins, come on man.

Coach Satterfield, find a running game.

I drank another beer and stopped watching the game in disgust not long into the 3rd quarter.

Here are my thoughts:

  • Shane Beamer.  Shane was maybe a little too honest about our chances of winning this game.  That was one of the reasons I stopped watching the game right after halftime.  I just felt he really didn't believe we could win this game even before we played it.  Also, a QB that doesn't have feeling in his throwing hand isn't 100%.  Don't tell the world he's 100% when he's not.  The only positive is he tried to address player issues as they happened during the game.
  • Josh Vann.  His undisciplined BS had the completely opposite effect of Damani Staley's pick in the ECU game and it was just damned stupid in a game like this one with no margin for error.  He reminds me of a WR named Tony Martin out of The U who played for the San Diego Chargers.  He was tall and had great athleticism, but he couldn't catch a cold on game day.  He just couldn't make it happen.
  • Luke Doty.  It's hard to be critical of Doty's performance when the O-line just stands there like statues and lets defenders run by them to blow up well-designed plays.  No QB will be successful when that is happening during games.  Still, the offense under Doty never scored more than 1 TD in the three games he started (and lost) at the end of last season.  He sadly met his quota for this game.  Not even close to being convinced he is a starter for us based on offensive output alone.
  • Zeb Noland.  His first completed long pass in a loud, sold-out Sanford Stadium was stone-cold money and so was the second one that Vann caught but negated the yardage gain with because of a stupid penalty after the catch.  We will need both him and Doty to be successful this season and whoever they hand off to has to gaps to run in from a good OL.
  • Georgia's Offense.  Daniels completed long passes to largely uncovered receivers and also got picked.  This game reminded me of the against the Aggies with true FR QB Kyler Murray, whom our awful defense made look like a Heisman candidate that game.  We made UGA's offense look better than it really is.
  • The Offensive Clown of the Week.  This game it was Vann.  Last week it was Muse.   Who will the Clown Prince of stupid penalties be against UK?  That's anybody's guess at this point.

Same here, start of the 4th I had enough and went to bed.  Even when watching I had time I just had to walk away.  Did we every run the wildcat with DJ?  When we do he need to throw 50% of the time.
