Hamsah Nasirildeen
USC Sunday night lost the grasp on one of its top commitments for the 2017 class when DB Hamsah Nasirildeen announced on Twitter that he decommitting from the Gamecocks and committing to Florida State.
“After discussions with my family and much prayer I have decided it is in my best interest to decommit from the University of South Carolina,” Nasirildeen wrote. “I would also like to announce at this time my commitment to Florida State University.”
Nasirildeen also thanked Will Muschamp and Bobby Bentley for their interest in him and wished them success in the future.
Nasirildeen had been committed to the Gamecocks since August but he took an official visit to Florida State in October. He publicly held to his commitment through his official visit to USC last weekend but never said he was shutting down the process.
Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher and recruiter Jay Graham were in for a visit with Nasirildeen this past week.
The decommitment leaves the Gamecocks with 22 commitments in their class.
