the last game of the season, it is obvious that Spurrier prefers Thompson over Shaw.

Spurrier chose to start Thompson in Clemson. He said afterward that Connor could have played, but he decided to let Thompson have the whole game. I think he'll start Connor in the Outback so that he can finish the season, but I expect to see Thompson getting a lot of time in that game. I also think that they'll battle it out in the spring, and I think Thompson will win the starting spot. Thompson runs the plays that are called, passes the ball, stays in the pocket and lets the plays develop, has the stronger arm, has proven that he can run, enables the offense to hold the ball longer thus resting the defense, and has tremendous leadership potential. The receivers like getting the ball, and the defense likes not having to wear themselves into the ground.

If Thompson is this good with only two starts under his belt, what could he do in an entire season?
