Zyon Gilbert
DB Zyon Gilbert (6-1 173) of Montgomery, AL worked out at USC’s camp Wednesday along with some of his teammates and left with an offer from Will Muschamp, his first from a SEC school. He also has offers from Illinois, Bowling Green, Troy, Samford, South Alabama, Cincinnati, Georgia State and Alabama A&M.
“It really means alot to me because I know not too many people will have this opportunity to get a SEC offer or even play college ball,” Gilbert said. “I’m just really thankful for the offer and taking it in. I’m tall and lengthy and he likes corners who are tall and lengthy, and I can cover well.”
This was Gilbert’s second visit to USC and on that earlier visit he got the tour of the campus and the facilities. This visit was all about the camp.
“I’m surprised that I got the offer and I’m just waiting out my options,” he said. “I’m not letting the offer get to my head. I’m still going to work hard and continue to do what I have to do to get more.”
Gilbert, and his teammates, are going to Clemson Thursday, North Carolina Friday and NC State Saturday. Tuesday they were at Alabama.
