All said and done Gamecocks finish the season ranked AP poll for the 2022 season
Jan. 10, 2023Not long after Georgia was crowned king of college football for the second year in a row, the AP released its final ranking for the 2022 season. The Bulldogs, of course, was ranked #1 and were followed in the top five by TCU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama.
Ranked six through ten were Tennessee, Penn State, Washington, Tulane, and Utah.
Clemson finished 13th in the ranking falling 3 spots from the previous ranking after the loss to Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. The #13 ranking is one spot higher than the Tigers finished in the final poll for 2021 and marks their second straight season finishing outside the top ten after a run of 6 straight top 4 finishes.
USC wound up 23rd in the final ranking falling 3 spots from their previous ranking following the loss to Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl. It’s the first top-25 finish for the Gamecocks since placing 4th in the last ranking for the 2013 season.
