Michael Allen
DE Michael Allen of Buford, GA recently unveiled a top six that includes USC. But the Gamecocks must not hold the same regard for him because they did not invite him to Saturday’s cookout for top targets and thus he will not be there.
The 6-foot-6 240 pound Allen received an offer from the Gamecocks in March and visited USC for the spring game in April. He has kept in contact with Coach Will Muschamp, saying they text “every now and then,” but was not notified of the Spurs Up cookout.
Allen has been heavily recruited and has upwards of 30 offers from several SEC and ACC schools. Per his Twitter account, his top six schools are USC, Tennessee, Georgia, Southern Cal, Wake Forest and Alabama.
When asked if USC was still in the mix, Allen said it depends on the Gamecocks’ interest in him.
“I like the staff,” Allen said. “I just haven’t talked to them that much. I still like the school and want to go back for another visit. It’s really based on if they want me. Then, I’ll go back down there and see what’s going on.”
Allen’s most recent visit was to Tennessee in mid-June, which is the only visit he’s made so far this summer.
