NC State is the latest to offer junior WR Freddie Phillips 6'2" 187lbs of Pelion. The Wolfpack join North Carolina as the first two schools to offer the Pelion product. Phillips visited NC State last weekend and received his offer on the trip. "It was my parents first time in Raleigh," Phillips said. "They really liked it and so did I. The fans really know how to stay in the game and engage the players. I got to meet coach (Dave) Doeren and he gave me the offer in person." Phillips is excited about the offer but does not have any favorites just yet. "I like all schools that are interested in me," he said. "Obviously, I like NC State and North Carolina because they've offered me but I'm pretty wide open right now." Clemson has shown interest in Phillips and while visiting Death Valley the week of the SC State game, Phillips got to speak with some of the Tiger assistant coaches. "Coach (Brent) Venables and coach (Jeff) Scott both talked to me and they told me they were interested," Phillips said. "My coach told me they've called him to ask about me, so we'll see." His next visit has yet to be scheduled but Phillips is planning to attend a game at USC this season.
