Arecibo telescope in PR crashes donw.

The giant Arecibo telescope in Puerto Rico came crashing down a few days ago.  One of the cables holding it up snapped during a recent Hurricane, and it was deemed unsafe to operate several weeks ago. Most folks probably remember it from the  Goldeneye James Bond movie.

Well if the last hurricane disaster that devastated the island taught us anything, is that that there is probably a warehouse full of maintenance parts forgotten somewhere in the country...or a few government officials with a nice sized off-shore "hidden" bank account.
