I've never been a fan of scheduling FCS teams. For us in SC, there's some political push out there that requires both us and the taters play one of the smaller schools within the state. It's great for them in that they essentially get a cash handout for playing a game. It's not so beneficial for the FBS side.
In all honesty, I'd like to see another division created. The way it is now with 130 teams playing in the same league, there is simply no logical way of determining who gets to play for the championship. Some teams and conferences will always be favored over others. Take a look at UCF. Now I'm in no way saying that they would have matched up with the playoff teams in 2017, but they did go undefeated in their regular and post season games that year. They got left out, because well they really play nobody all year. So essentially that tells us that the entire AAC is a lesser conference and deserves no place at the table with other FBS conferences. If that's the case, then why even have them in the same league?
