It is fun to watch all the new Gamecocks showing their worth. Paris did a good job in recruiting and the Portal. 3 of his freshmen recruits are getting playing time, Ellis, Assemian and Polk. And besides Meechie and Stute, 5 other transfers have been getting playing time like Knox and Kapic. Just shows it is not all about recruiting now-a days. The Portal is huge. And we see Paris has learned to make it work both ways, i.e. with Meechie.
And now he has another top recruiting prospect on the way here for 2026: Marcus Johnson, Mr. Ohio Basketball. He is the No. 3 point guard in the country. A 4 Star.
I am sure the fact that he is first cousin with Meechie had something to do with his decision to come here but Paris talked Meechie into coming back here.
Paris is also working really hard on a couple other top recruits including a 5 Star from Florida.
WOMEN
Dawn always does a great job recruiting, and she is working on getting some of the best in the country. She already has Kelsi Andrews and Kaeli Wynn committed, but she is working on 3-4 other girls that she might get to come here. She also did a good job with the portal. Ta'Niya, Okot, and Makeer are all helping the team.
