Nope, but it seems like Tanner made CSB keep Bobo. So that is a silver lining in all this.Do you think Bobo leaving for a better job is Ray's fault?

Fair enough! My only defense of Ray in what you listed above is Holbrook - seemed like an absolute can't-miss hire at the time.I think that the debacle that is our coaching staff/players transferring left and right now falls on the shoulders of the AD who allowed someone to drag their feet in coming to Columbia...his hiring of Muschamp/buyout was a distaster...Holbrook was a disaster...and now this...at what point does the buck stop at the top?
In all honesty it is not his fault per se that Bobo left...but he is a horrible AD (IMO)

Seems Tom has player-coach issues. He is not a fit for Shane Beamer.Segue to Herman.
I would be concerned about his ego...but then again after getting terminated that may have brought him down a notch or two...I don't remember the same issues with players while at Houston but he certainly did at TexasSeems Tom has player-coach issues. He is not a fit for Shane Beamer.
Seems it was more related to recruiting relationships....which is going to be big for Shane. But it would be cool if we could get him.I would be concerned about his ego...but then again after getting terminated that may have brought him down a notch or two...I don't remember the same issues with players while at Houston but he certainly did at Texas
he's still counting the monies he got this month, and the money from Florida, he has the 100's stacked in his house , he didn't have time was still counting the dollars Ray sent him .We didn't wait until the end of the season to fire Muschamp, so we're a little out of synch with the coaching job market right now.
Just have to take a few deep breaths and let it play out.
Herman as OC and Arnett as DC would be pretty solid.
Can Muschamp still get his full buyout if he turns down a legitimate job offer like he just did at Texas?
Shaw, need to be in the recruiting office not sure he's ready for that roll. Call Tom Herman make the callSpork asked for my take - this is what happens when a coach has no ties to your program and does not see South Carolina as a desirable destination for any reason other than money - he will leave for a few more bucks, or a bigger school, or some place that he sees as a desirable location (like UGA). I doubt if you see someone like Stepp - who wants to be here - leave any time soon. Same with Beamer himself.
In Bobo's case, we kept him because he did a decent job in 2020 and was free - we had to pay him 1.2 million anyway. If he was Choice A, it was only because of the money. Now that he is leaving, we are off the hook for the $ (I think we maybe even get a buyout) and can go after Choice A - with an extra 1.2 mill at least..
And now that he is gone, we make Shaw QB coach - Shaw wants to be here, and Stockton can go from being coached by Jaybo Shaw to Connor Shaw.
has shaw ever served as a GA or would what he is doing under Muschamp the same? Is that a necessary step to becoming a college coach?Spork asked for my take - this is what happens when a coach has no ties to your program and does not see South Carolina as a desirable destination for any reason other than money - he will leave for a few more bucks, or a bigger school, or some place that he sees as a desirable location (like UGA). truth.Ahhh, and so it is being a Gamecock fan....just another day...
Agreed. It is what it is - let's go get somebody good.I am not worried about this one bit. I wasn’t crazy about keeping Bobo, but thought it would be ok. So now we get what we want. This will be better for the program.
Same here, when when news broke Bobo was staying. Said I was Leary of the move to keep him. So I am happy. I am just mad because we are here at the bottom again while the taters are a elite with Bama and the rest while Gamecock are next to the bottom of the SEC way to regular.I am not worried about this one bit.
