It's coming down to the wire for Conway wide receiver Bryan Edwards and a second college decision.

Edwards had been committed to South Carolina, but he decommitted after Steve Spurrier resigned. He has taken an official visit to Clemson and will take one to USC this weekend. Georgia has tried to get back involved but his decision is down to the Gamecocks and Tigers.

USC coach Will Muschamp visited with Edwards on Monday and Thursday, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney met with Edwards to make his final pitch. The Gamecocks have been recruiting Edwards as a receiver while the Tigers are projecting him as a safety.

"Bryan informed him (Swinney) that he will take his visit to USC this weekend and then make his decision early next week," Conway coach Chuck Jordan said. "It was pretty much the same conversation they have had. His (Swinney's) interest is getting him in the position to where he'll be most beneficial to them. At the end of the day, you've got people (recruiters) who know what they are doing and make a lot of good points."

Clemson's area recruiter Danny Pearman also was in on the visit. Jordan did not know which day next week Edwards will proclaim a decision only that it will be early in the week.

Edwards was chosen for the Shrine Bowl but because of a knee injury will not be able to play and won't travel up to Spartanburg during the week. He instead will focus on his exams because he is an early graduate.
