Busy week of commitments ahead starting Monday

Will Clemson land Dexter Lawrence Monday?
Big decisions impacting Clemson’s and USC’s 2016 classes are looming this week.  The Tigers are first up with DL Dexter Lawrence of Wake Forest, NC announcing his choice Monday at 3:30 PM.  Lawrence is down to Clemson, NC State, Florida, Ohio State and Alabama.  He visited NC State over the weekend.

Early this week, possibly Monday, former USC commitment WR Bryan Edwards of Conway is to finalize his plans between the Gamecocks and Clemson. He took his official visit with the Gamecocks over the weekend.   He took his official visit to Clemson November 21st after decommitting from the Gamecocks following Steve Spurrier’s resignation.  The Gamecocks like him as a receiver, the Tigers as a safety.

Another one to watch for USC Monday is DE Sadarius Hutcherson of Huntingdon, TN.  He plans to talk with his parents Monday and is considering announcing a commitment to USC or Memphis with the Gamecocks holding the edge right now.  However, he still plans to take other official visits even with a commitment.

Tuesday at 7:30 PM current USC commitment RB CJ Freeman of Greensboro will announce if he will stick with the Gamecocks or switch to Wisconsin, Louisville or Georgia Southern.  Freeman made his official visit with the Gamecocks over the weekend.

Also planning to make a decision this week is DB Jamarcus King of Coffeyville JC, KS.  He’s a mid-year graduate so he can sign as of Wednesday.  King is down to the Gamecocks, Auburn and Arkansas after taking his official visit with the Gamecocks over the weekend.

And USC quarterback commitment Brandon McIlwain of Newtown, PA will be on watch this week, and maybe longer. He made his official visit to USC over the weekend but left still undecided about whether or not to enroll early and thus cement his future with the Gamecocks.
