Penn State lost one of it’s top 2015 commitments last week in 4 star DE Adam McLean 6'1" 282lbs of North Potomac, MD. Before committing to the Nittany Lions in April, McLean had Clemson and USC on his list. He actually visited USC in February and has ties to both schools. He’s friends with Clemson linebacker Darian O’Daniel and with USC commitment Jalen Christian.
Now that McLean is back on the market, the Tigers and Gamecocks are back on his mind. In fact, they are part of his short list that also includes Ole Miss and Washington State. He has heard recently from the Tigers and Gamecocks.
“I’m going to try to get to one of those schools sometime in the next few weeks,” McLean said. “I’m not sure yet but I’m working with the coaches on date. I talked to coach Reid (Clemson) and coach Mangus (USC) recently.”
McLean made an official visit to Washington State last weekend. He also plans to take an official to Ole Miss. He said Clemson and USC also look strong for visits. He’s expecting coaches to visit him soon and he doesn’t have a favorite.
McLean saw his senior season end prematurely with a knee injury in mid October. He will have surgery January 23rd.
