Coach Beamer on ‘Carolina Calls injury report

Coach Beamer on ‘Carolina Calls injury report said running back Christian Beal-Smith, defensive tackle Alex Huntley and safety Devonni Reed were ready to roll for Week 8.
Beamer said. “We’re in as good of a position injury-wise and health-wise as we’ve been since the first game, to be honest with you." All those guys who missed the Kentucky game will be back, except for Corey Rucker. He won’t play on Saturday.
But everybody else, Boogie, (David) Spaulding’s good, Christian Beal-Smith will be back. He’ll play on Saturday. He’s had an excellent week of practice, so credit Clint Haggard and our training staff for keeping those guys healthy. We’re going to need them all.
Gamecocks are going to be without Corey Rucker and Terrell Dawkins, both of whom are still working themselves back from injuries.
Rucker’s been banged up for most of the year while Dawkins, who would have been in the rotation at defensive end if healthy, was hurt midyear and expected to miss 4-6 weeks at the initial prognosis.
Beamer said he’s getting closer and closer to playing, although he didn’t give a specific return date. Dawkins practiced this week, Beamer said. “He continues to come along and get closer and closer to hopefully being ready to get back on the field as well.”
