Ordinarily, we drop this weekly segment later on in the day. However, because we have so much news from the last week, we're going to kick your morning off with a jolt of recruiting nuggets.

This is a big weekend for recruiting, as schools all over the nation are hosting their spring games. We'll have some thoughts on spring games as recruiting tools later, but for now we've got your recruiting wrap up for the last week!

Oh, where to start, folks? There is so much news and so many big commitments over the last seven days. Florida just held their Orange and Blue Debut spring game and in the process netted four kids for the class of 2013.

Tre Bell, a defensive back, and Ahmad Fullwood, a wide receiver, look to bring the Gators some talent on the edge. Up front, Joshua Outlaw and Cameron Dillard have committed to joining Will Muschamp's offensive line in the future. That's 15 kids for Will Muschamp as his team heads into the summer season.

Florida's rival Georgia Bulldogs are also continuing their tear through the recruiting world. Since the last time we updated you, the Dawgs have landed several big commitments.

Last Thursday, they hit a trifecta by adding Aulden Bynum (OL), Ryne Rankins (LB) and Kyrin Priester (WR) to their 2013 haul. In the last two days, Mark Richt and staff have added two more to their mix, to make 14. Defensive back JJ Green and linebacker Reginald Carter want to join the party that Todd Grantham is throwing on the Dawgs defense.

Sticking in the region but heading over to the ACC, Clemson has added a running back from Georgia to their 2013 commitment list. Wayne Gallman joined the class, and while the 3-star running back is not highly touted, hit teammate Robert Nkemdiche is the No. 1 recruit in the nation. Should be interesting to see how this Gallman commitment affects the defensive end's coming decision.

Up in the Big Ten, we've got one commitment apiece for the three schools who are really pacing the league for 2013's cycle. Ohio State picked up Marcus Baugh, a tight end. Michigan gained the pledge of a linebacker, Ben Gedeon and Penn State snagged a big-time defensive tackle, Greg Webb. For the rest of the Big Ten, things need to pick up if they want to keep pace.

In the much less exciting news for the fanbase concerned, Arkansas is down to zero commits. Austin Bennett, a wide receiver, has decided that Arkansas is not the place for him. He withdrew his commitment to the Razorbacks after hearing that Bobby Petrino had been fired. The Hogs also lost Jamel James, a 4-star running back, in the wake of the firing. As James says:

“I was really planning to play for coach Petrino,” James said. “Once he was fired, I was really heartbroken. I really wanted to play for coach Petrino.”
We'll keep you updated on all the big recruiting news as we go forward. There should be a lot of big things to come this weekend as spring games look to impress the big fish.
