This is a workhorse recruiting class. These are guys that will continue to build the foundation that South Carolina has created over the last few years behind some star power USC has had like Lattimore, Clowney, Gilmore and more.

There are plenty of underrated players like Pharoh Cooper, David Johnson, Jamari Smith that could surprise a lot of people down the line.

There are a few bonafide potential stars in guys like Connor Mitch, David Williams and Larenz Bryant.

I like the offensive line class a lot. I think we've hit a homerun here with all five guys in this year's class. There's some versatility there with a guy like Bryce King who could play all the inside positions. I think each of these guys will contribute on the line in the future.

It would have been nice to hang on to CB Brendan Langley or pull Shaq Wiggins and maybe have had a big, physical receiving threat like Mike Williams, but Gamecock fans should be very pleased with this group of players. They all seem to be of the "team first" mentality and that goes a long way these days in building a winner.

The star power may not shine like Ole Miss, Alabama, or Georgia but the production will be on par, if not greater, when it's all said and done. This staff gets the most out its players and that will continue with the 2013 class.

USC adds Vickers to signees

After failing to land DL Keith Bryant with the final scholarship available for this year's class, USC did go ahead and sign DE Kendal Vickers of Havelock, NC. Vickers committed to the Gamecocks in November. The Gamecocks took his pledge knowing he likely will have to enroll in a prep school this fall. Vickers played primarily offensive tackle in high school but the Gamecocks see him growing and developing into a defensive end. Vickers becomes the 22nd signee for the Gamecocks' class, the max they can sign........
