4-star QB Dakereon Joyner commits
The Gamecocks got some tremendous news over the weekend.
Four-star QB Dakereon Joyner announced his commitment to South Carolina in Fort Dorchester’s packed auditorium on Sunday afternoon.

“South Carolina landed the 4-star quarterback over North Carolina State. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Oregon were among the offers for Joyner, who competed earlier this month in the Elite 11 finals,” SEC Country’s Hale McGranahan reported. “The announcement was made in honor of his late father, Damond Alton Joyner.”

Future teammates on new QB commit
They may not be on the same field yet, but plenty of Joyner’s future teammates are already fans of the quarterback.
“His leadership skills and the chemistry that he has, he’ll be your friend on and off the field, somebody that you can connect with. … I mean, he’s just a respectable dude,” said 3-star safety and fellow commit R.J. Roderick. “He’s real cool and real down to earth as well.”
Who’s next?
Joyner already has his sights set on two major targets for the Gamecocks in the Class of 2018 …
“One, I’m going to get Xavier Thomas to flip,” Joyner said, via The State. “I’m going to try to get him, Stephon Wynn, just everybody on board.”
