Damon Arnette visits Ohio State

Fort Lauderdale (Fl.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2015 DB and South Carolina commit Damon Arnette was one of the better performers at Ohio State for Friday Night Lights last week.

Following the elite camp  he would be talking to Ohio State co-defensive coordinator/secondary coach Chris Ash upon returning home, and the three-star prospect did just that last night.

"I just spoke to him," Arnette told Bucknuts. "He said he enjoyed me being there and stuff like that, you know? He was basically just telling me they're going to keep recruiting me and that they want me. I'll be taking an official visit there."

In addition to Ohio State, Arnette also said he would be taking an official visit to South Carolina, naturally, "as well as some other schools".

Damon Arnette update

As has been previously reported, South Carolina three-star cornerback commitment Damon Arnette (St. Thomas Aquinas/Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) visited Ohio State over the weekend and said that he'd be taking an official visit to Ohio State in addition to his Carolina official.

I touched based with a source extremely close to Arnette tonight and was told that Arnette enjoyed his time on the visit but is still firmly committed to the Gamecocks. The way the person put it: "He loved Ohio State but he loves the Gamecocks more."

The relationship with Gamecocks defensive backs coach Grady Brown remains a huge factor here. Brown has developed an outstanding reputation in south Florida and specifically with Arnette and his family.
